There are beach holidays and then there are culture holidays, but this fantastic Omega holiday just happens to be both. You'll be staying at a centrally located 3 star hotel at the Lido di Jesolo, a pretty Italian town with a zoo and aquarium, boat cruises, a lovely shopping piazza, lots of cafés, restaurants and discos, and a very splendid and very long sandy beach. But best of all, it's only an hour's drive round the mainland to Venice.

The sprawl of Venetian islands lie in a large lagoon, gated from the sea by a chain of long lidos connecting two headlands. Lido di Jesolo sits behind the northern headland, a long spur which boasts a 15km sandy beach. You can get a slow boat to Venice or a fast bus around the bay to Mestre and then across the main bridge of the Via della Libertà.

You could also take some or all of the optional excursions to Venice, Verona & Lake Garda, Treviso, and Cortina & the Dolomites, all bookable in the resort.

Optional excursions Supplements apply
Venice & The Islands of the LagoonMondays
approx. €66pp
This one takes you to Venice and then a vaporetto across the Lagoon to the islands of Burano, known for its colourful houses (said to guide the fishermen home in heavy fog) and lace industry, and Murano, world-famous for its glass manufacturing and featuring a Glass Museum in the Palazzo Giustinian. You never see ancient Romans in movies holding glass goblets, but they did exist, and you can see some here. A must for lovers of fine arts and crafts.
Verona & Lake Garda Tuesdays
approx. €60pp
Verona has one of the most complete Roman amphitheatres in the world, lit up at night for open air Verdi operas and other shows. There are Roman ruins and excavations everywhere, even in cutaway sections underneath the streets and buildings, so that you're almost walking in two worlds simultaneously. And there's one other thing not to miss - number 23, Via Cappello, an early 14th century house supposed to be that of the Cappelletti family upon which Shakespeare based his story of the Capulets, their feud with the Montagues, and the doomed love of Romeo and Juliet. The tour continues to Lake Garda, Italy's largest and most photogenic lake, with a stop on the picturesque Sirmione peninsula, where Roman poet Catullus had a villa.
Cortina & The DolomitesWednesdays
approx. €50pp
Cortina is a Winter Olympics town, jet-set resort and scene of a Bond movie (remember Roger Moore skiing onto a bobsleigh run, chased by ice-spiked motorcyclists with machine-guns?). Even non-Bond fans will appreciate the Dolomites - a unique range of huge, silvery-grey mountains, most over 10,000ft, with dizzying drops, canyons and karst formations, and said to be the most beautiful mountain range in the world. We start with a walking tour of Cortina and some free time, then relocate to Lake Misurina, a famous beauty spot, before returning to the hotel for in time for dinner.
Treviso & Wine TastingThursdays
approx. €50pp
We set off at around 8.30am for Treviso, the 'city of art and water' and the home of Benetton. We'll have a walking tour and some free time to do the shops before we set off again to the wineries of Roncade for a spot of wine tasting. There'll be at least three wines to try along with some cheese and nibbles. We return at around 3.30pm.

All excursions are subject to minimum numbers. Book in resort with your rep at the welcome meeting.
